57-year-old Evander Holyfield dared Mike Tyson, 53, to challenge him to a bout after the Iron Mike announced his return to the ring.
After The Baddest Man on The Planet revealed he’s about to return to the boxing scene to raise money for charity, he has been flooded with fight requests from numerous worthy challengers, including Evander Holyfield.
As ‘The Real Deal’ announced, he too, like Tyson, would be returning to the ring to take part in exhibition charity bouts.
Previously, in 1996, Holyfield beat Tyson with a knockout in the 11th round. A year later, The Warrior was once again pronounced a winner of the fight in which Tyson bit a part of his ear off.
Now, the 57-year-old 4-time heavyweight champion dared Tyson to challenge him to their third fight in the ring.
“I wouldn’t ask him does he want to do it, he would have to ask me, because it’s just like being a bully, you beat the guy twice and you know that you can,” Holyfield said in an interview with Manouk Akopyan.
As The Real Deal went on to suggest, he believes he could beat the Iron Mike despite being four years his senior.
“I’m four years older than Mike, I know that he is very quick, but I’m quick too,” he added. “But I realize I can’t wait on him, because I know if I wait on him he may get me.”
The 57-year-old former boxing champion also insisted he wouldn’t be going back to the ring if it wasn’t for a charity purpose.
“We’re doing this, raising money for a charity and then they pay us so we have something for ourselves, but the thing is, you know what you’re doing it for,” Holyfield said.
