Showing the heart of a true champ, Tyson Fury actually chased down one fan in order to give advice on how to best combat his mental health issues.

The Gypsy King was certainly the best one to give that advice considering his remarkable turnaround from being suicidal to becoming a world champion.

A fan named Colby, from Milton Keynes, approached Fury to ask for a photo. The boxer acquiesces and the fan thanks Fury before explaining what was happening to him. The whole thing was captured while filming Fury’s new ITV documentary.

After Fury steps away, he suddenly turns back to speak with Colby after realizing that the guy may be battling his personal demons and gave heartfelt advice on how to overcome them.

Fury, who hinted that Colby’s parents had likely split up, tells the camera: “I tell you something now.

“That lad is here from Milton Keynes or wherever he’s from, probably his parents have split up; one lives down there, one lives up here.

“So I would say, just by speaking to him for two seconds, that he suffers from mental health problems of some sort.

“Which brings me to go and speak to him…”

Fury calls out to Colby then runs towards him, saying: “Now from speaking to you for two seconds I thought that kid might be struggling with mental health problems of some sort.”

Colby replies: “I went through a stage when I was depressed, it was hard for me growing up, my mum was a single parent.”

Fury then says: “My parents split up and all that c***, whatever, it’s not easy.

“What my advice would be, if boxing is what you’re into it, then get into that and put some good energy into it.”

In November 2015, Fury dethroned heavyweight king Wladimir Klitschko but had to relinquish the belts a year later after it came out that he was suffering from depression and substance abuse.

He ballooned to 28 stone but managed to turn things around and make a comeback to the ring.

Six fights and five years later, Fury has become a world champion again after wresting the WBC title from Wilder.

Colby said he was inspired by the Gypsy King’s journey.

He explains: “It’s crazy to talk to one of my role models, it’s definitely inspired me. Your story personally, and how you went through the hard times.”

Fury turns back to the camera and says: “That humbled me.

“This journey is bigger than boxing because I get the opportunity to do stuff like that and help people who are suffering.

“Maybe that conversation can help; to have an opportunity to help people and do good for the good, that’s what drives me now.”
