The vigorous fight in Las Vegas made it possible for Tyson to hold an official title after five years. The last time he had a title was in 2015 when he defeated Wladimir Klitschko.

However, after the victory against the Ukrainian, Tyson got depression that caused him to gain weight rapidly, becoming as heavy as 400lbs.

In the months after defeating Klitschko and ending his decade long championship, the British heavyweight king went into a spiral of drugs, drinking and suicidal thoughts.

But Tyson proved to be better than depression when he conquered the condition. He pledged to become heavyweight champion again and won the battle against Wilder in the high profile rematch.

Before Tyson started training for his first match against Wilder aka the Bronze Bomber, he weighed a hefty 378lbs.

However, he hired the services of coach Ben Davison and a dedicated nutritionist, who made it possible for him to get rid of the fat and be in the form to win the match.

“Tyson never really stuck to the diet plan we gave him last time, he was always nipping out and eating fast food outside the camp – and all that has changed now.”

All the efforts worked out quite well as Tyson weighed just under 275lbs at the time of the rematch and won against Wilder with flying colors.
