An Uber Eats moped rider was caught scooping up a dropped takeaway before delivering it.
The clumsy Uber Eats driver spilled Mexican food all over the path, before picking it up again and going to ring the customers’ doorbell.
He told Barry Lewis and Billie Smith that the bag of food had pieces missing because it was knocked over on the road to their house.
The couple complained to the Mexican restaurant it came from. Next day, Barry’s suspicions aroused when he discovered bits of chicken and steak in his garden.
He then checked his CCTV to see the Uber Eats driver drop it all over their route. Barry, 31, of Clapham, South West London said: “The driver told my partner it had been knocked about on the journey and that’s why it was a mess.
“We took a few bites but hardly touched it. It was cold and everything was all over the place. We chucked it away.
“I just thought it had been a bad order. The next day I walked outside and there was some food on my path and in my bush. I was a bit confused and I’d already made a complaint with the restaurant but checked the CCTV.”
“I was amazed. You could see the guy get off his bike then trip and drop the food all over the floor.
“He stares at the wraps for a bit before picking them up and putting them in the bag. He then delivers it. It’s disgusting. We can’t believe it.”
An Uber Eats spokeswoman said: ‘What has been described is totally unacceptable and we are currently investigating this incident.’
This is really unacceptable, how could he do this to someone’s food? He should have been responsible enough to do his duty.
