A heartwarming video of a Ugandan woman dancing with joy after being given her first ever pair of shoes is doing the rounds on the internet.
The woman was spotted barefoot by Laura Grier, who at once decided to gift her a pair of shoes.
Laura asked her driver to stop the car as soon as she passed by the woman without shoes at Bwindi National Park in Uganda.
In a video clip, Laura’s driver can be seen helping the African woman put on the pair of sneakers as she celebrates the joyful moment amid cheering crowd.
‘When I saw the woman on the side of the road barefoot I urged my driver to stop, the woman was barefoot and had never owned shoes before,’ Laura told Newsflare.
‘We stopped the car to pull over and give them to her, her reaction to wearing the shoes was priceless!’ she said.
Laura said it was a pair of her old tennis shoes which she had brought with her to give away to someone, adding how the priceless reaction of the Ugandan woman ‘brought tears to my eyes.’
As soon as the African woman realized what was happening, she began dancing in celebration – even before she put them on.
And since it was her first pair of shoes ever, she didn’t know how to wear them.
It was when Laura’s driver helped the woman put on the sneakers and tied up their laces for her. While he was doing so, the delighted woman gave a thumbs up to Laura.
After she had put on the shoes, she resumed her dance routine. Unable to control her happiness, the woman kept smiling the entire time.
Busting out moves from the traditional African dance, the woman celebrated the moment amid applause and cheers from the people gathered around.
