Boris Johnson, the British Prime Minister on Monday, said that he is undergoing regular tests for coronavirus symptoms; however, he is in good spirits and will stay in touch with his team.
On Twitter, the PM said that his doctor advised him to do some routine tests for coronavirus as he is still experiencing the symptoms for coronavirus.
He further added that he is in good spirits and will stay in touch with his team, and together they will fight the virus and ensure that the citizens are safe.
However, later he was moved to intensive care, which created a worrisome turn in his 10-day battle with the virus. It has another strong evidence of how this deadly virus has threatened the political establishment of the UK and thrown its government into chaos.
According to the government, the decision was a precaution, and the PM had been in good spirits earlier in the day. However, after the news of the PM being in intensive care, the nation is praying for the best.
Reflecting how serious the situation had become, Downing Street, in its statement, said on Monday that Mrs. Boris Johnson had requested the Dominic Raab, the foreign secretary, to deputize for him wherever it is necessary.
Post the news, the investors reacted, and the pound witnessed a significant drop against the dollar.
Post noting that the PM was still working on the official paper, the aides said he had been transferred to the intensive care unit, in case he required a ventilator to assist his recovery.
Not every critical patient is ventilated, but many are provided with oxygen. Officials also said that Mr. Johnson is conscious. Boris Johnson is a political phenomenon that formed the greatest Conservative Party Victory after Margaret Tatcher in 1987.
