Florida East Coast and the coasts of Georgia and South Carolina have been warned about Dorian, a category 5 hurricane that is predicted to cause severe destructions in the US coasts.
While the Florida and coasts of Georgia prepare for the calamity, President Donald Trump was spotted playing golf on Monday.
Trump was seen enjoying a merry golf session at the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia. Reportedly, he took several breaks during the session to update his tweets addressing the severity of the hurricane.
Approximately 5 people have been killed after Dorian reached the Bahamian coasts. The country’s Prime Minister, Hubert Minnis has described the calamity as a historical tragedy.
Minnis further added that the main aim is to focus on search, rescue, and recovery. After Dorian affected the Bahamian coasts, millions were warned to evacuate from Florida, Georgia, and Carolina.
The National Hurricane Center has reported that though Dorian would eventually degrade to category 4 and 3 as it hits Florida coasts, it is advised that people adhere to the advice and instructions given by local emergency officials in order to control the level of destruction.
The hurricane center officials further added that the life-threatening storm would bring dangerous force winds and increase water levels.
Last weekend Trump was scheduled to visit Poland to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the beginning of World War II. He canceled the event stating that monitoring Dorian, a catastrophic calamity is important than anything else.
It is reported that Trump took a helicopter to his golf course in Virginia afterward. The controversies stirred up when The Hill posted a video of president playing golf in Virginia.
White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham has denied everything as false information targeted to degrade and overlook the efforts of the President. The Secretary added that the President has nothing to do with the video.
In favor of the President’s innocence, the secretary confirmed that he has been busy with several phone calls regarding the hurricane.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan having a consistent feud with the US President took advantage of the situation and slammed him by saying that the President is highly busy handling the hurricane at the golf course.
Lately, Donald Trump has been giving statements regarding the hurricane, stating that category 5 hurricane is something that he has never heard of and it’s possibly the biggest calamity to hit the US coast.
The President has re-tweeted several tweets from the National Hurricane Center, FEMA, and the American Red Cross since Saturday.
After the allegations probed on the President for playing golf, Republican and Florida Governor came forward in his defense stating that the President has been fully engaged in the issue since its beginning.
