When Shawn Borrough, a US veteran, got a really bad cough, he brushed it off as being nothing more than a flu.
Little did he know that this one “flu” would change his entire life.
Shawn Borrough is a proud father of four. He acquired symptoms of what was initially thought of as a flu. His wife, Jennifer, shed some light on his condition. She described it as a typical flu, with coughs, headaches, congestions, etc. Neither of them thought of it as anything serious.

As his condition worsened, Shawn outright refused to seek medical help and continued to work 12 hours a day to support his family.
Everything seemed fine and bland, and for the most part, not life-threatening. But tragedy struck on New Year’s Day when, in what seemed like the end of the world, Borrough stopped breathing. His breathing was impaired and his symptoms were worsening. He was rushed to the emergency room, where he was sedated and treated subsequently.
Turns out, Shawn’s symptoms were not that of a typical flu, but that of severe pneumonia. His kidneys were malfunctioning, and his white count was increasing drastically. Jennifer was left in utter horror, as her soft-hearted-self had never expected such a tragedy.
The Borroughs had even refused to get their kids vaccinated against the common flu. Testing showed that two of their four children were flu-positive. Luckily, the doctors found no current symptoms of influenza.

The doctors, fortunately, were very confident in their treatments. They told the family that Shawn had a staph pneumonia, which is the kind that can be treated with little to no difficulties. Shawn was kept on the ventilator as his family prayed for his wellbeing.
Meanwhile, Jennifer has taken to social media, particularly Facebook, to keep her friends updated on Shawn’s progress. She personally requested everyone to pray for her husband’s betterment, and for her family in general.
Fortunately, Jennifer has been blessed with friends who will do absolutely anything to help her. They have started a fundraising campaign that has raised over five thousand dollars for the hospital costs, and have also initiated a meal train to provide the family with a constant supply of food.
SHAWN COME ON YOU HAVE TO WAKE UP!! All your work buddies are pulling for you babe!! ❤️❤️❤️ thank you everyone !!!

One of her friends, Teresa Ponce, wrote out her heartfelt prayers. She was the one who started the meal train so that Jennifer can focus more on the important things.
Jennifer wishes to warn everyone about the dangers of neglecting minor symptoms. She wants to spread awareness of the life-threatening conditions that can present themselves as harmless as a flu.
She tells each and every one of her followers to go get themselves checked, even if you’re 100% sure it’s nothing too serious. We wish all the best for the Borroughs!
