Vans is taking a huge step for the autistic community as it is releasing its first sensory-inclusive footwear.
On Wednesday, the brand made its official announcement where it said that the brand will be releasing its Vans Autism Awareness Collection.
The collection consists of a line of footwear that is specifically created with Autism Spectrum Disorder kept in view.
The brand partnered with the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards to make sure they work right on their vision of creating shoes with sensory elements included.
The shoes consist of palettes of greens and blues for calmness.
The designs of the shoes are also in consideration with the sense of touch, sound, and sight.
The shoes will be launched soon and will be available before April, ahead of the week of Autism awareness.
The brand has also claimed to donate $100,000 of the profit by shoes to A.skate Foundation.
This foundation is an NPO that introduces the great fun of riding a skateboard to the autistic kids.
The launch is a massive one and so the collection has some great pairs of shoes.
Here are a few of them, ComfyCush Old Skool with blue suede, for easy gliding on the foot, the ComfyCush Slip-On, and the ComfyCush New Skool, that features a single-strap, and a single hook-and-loop closure.
It is said that the ComfyCush Slip-On PT and ComfyCush Old Skool are going to be available in all the sizes with only white and black color.
While the ComfyCush Slip-On PT, that has a hologram pattern and has a “LOVE” printed on it as well as ComfyCush New Skool, are only going to be made for kids and toddlers.
The collection also has a range of t-shirts in a similar pattern for kids.
Coming out form a brand like Vans, this initiative is going to bring a lot of awareness to the world and will let people accept the autistic community as a part of society.
