A vegan activist was caught on camera mourning at the meat section of a supermarket while dressed up as a cow.
The bizarre form of demonstration which took place in Perth, Australia, was posted online by the woman’s accomplice, Stef Rose, who shared the footage on Facebook and captioned it “welcome to the death aisle.”
In the video, the woman in a cow costume is seen kneeling down in front of meat goodies and bowing her head in sadness while picking up packages containing meat.
After a while, the woman also lied down on the floor and held up a sign that read: “You’ve been lied to. YouTube Dominion.”
Dominion is a controversial documentary that aired last year and shows disturbing farm practices involving animal abuse that were caught on camera in secret.
While no one in the supermarket appeared to bat an eye over the vegan’s protest, the woman was swiftly kicked out of the store for attempting to cause a commotion.
Nevertheless, the vegan received tremendous support from fellow activists after the video was shared on Facebook.
“So good! Take a red circle or what looks like a puddle of blood to put under you too?” one person suggested.
“Group die in next. Seriously recommend,” another one said.
While this incident appears to be first of its kind, Perth is no stranger to protests of animal rights activists.
Earlier this year, a group of vegans harassed and yelled at diners who were trying to enjoy their dinners at an outside restaurant.
“Chicks are blended alive in a macerator or gassed to death simply because they don’t produce eggs,” one of the protestors said.
“Male calves are slaughtered as young as six weeks old simply because they don’t produce milk. Animals don’t want better lives, they want freedom. We have a choice the animals don’t.”
