Various media sources are now reporting that 33 year old veteran Ronnie McNutt shot himself to death on a Facebook livestream, and that Facebook is doing all it can in order to ensure that the shocking footage stops circulating online.
It has also been reported that the footage in its unadulterated version has already went viral online, including well-known platforms such as TikTok. Nonetheless, all readers of this article are discouraged from searching for the footage for its contents.
McNutt is said to have been working for a Toyota plant in New Albany after returning from Iraq. The Daily Star and others reported that it was on August 31st when he decided to livestream his last living moments.
As the video went viral on Tiktok and such – it was even pinned and recommended by the AI in Tiktok – rumors regarding McNutt also circulated online. The rumors claimed that McNutt was going through difficult times because he was both fired and broke up with his girlfriend.
Many users have expressed their shock and disgust at the fact that the platform did nothing to censor the traumatizing video. In fact, it was the users themselves that took time to advise and tell other users the contents of the video rather than the platform admins took control.
One user, who said he / she saw the contents of the video unknowingly, described how a bearded man fired a shotgun straight into his head. This user urged others to immediately scroll away and added that users who take some time off TikTok to avoid the video.
McNutt’s friends also expressed their sorrow for not being able to stop the tragedy. Many seemed to agree that they saw how unstable their friend was – one remarked how he tried to stop the shooting but wasn’t fast enough to prevent the harrowing death.
The church where McNutt was a member of in his life confirmed his death. In a Facebook post in which they addressed the death of McNutt, they asked that everyone put the McNutt family in their prayers as they come to terms with a tragedy.
