In September 1856, Florence Nightingale came to Balmoral to meet Queen and have a discussion about the British forces in Crimea where has been working as the leader of a nurse team.
When Florence became a queen at the age of 36, she was envied by Victoria who wanted to become like Florence. There was a need for changes in the Army’s medical practice, and Florence commented in front of Victoria as one of the self-reliant people she has ever come across.
The Albert and Victoria love story is a good example of idyllic love story whereas the picture of the reality speaks something different and the character of Albert has been shown as that of a dominant personality who always proved that his wife is weak and will not be able to cope up with his husband’s standard.
Victoria’s deep love for her husband made her accomplish most of her responsibilities as a tribute to her husband and placed him as her priorities.
The subjugation of the bride started soon after their marriage in the 10th of February in the year 1840.
Though he maintained a different picture among his friends that he was only the husband and exercised no domineering power over his wife. Before their marriage, love letters from Albert were filled with too much love for his beloved that completely changed just after they got married.
After giving birth to their child, Victoria was of the words that Albert cared for her more than that of a mother and behaves in a kind manner with her.
In such a situation, others were of the opinion that Albert did not understand the political situation well.
After this, within a few years, the couple was blessed with six more children. During November 1850, the tenth birthday of Albert was followed by Christmas celebration wintery Windsor Castle. Also, the Christmas celebration has been dominated by the taste of Albert.
In this relation, Victoria was interested in decorating the Christmas trees as she viewed it as a change in her life. Other than this, Victoria was less interested in political matters as has been informed by Albert’s secretary. She voted more of her time in taking care of her children as the number of her children were growing slowly. Instead of this, she felt lonely and stated that she could stay alone without her master for long.
After giving birth to her eldest son Bertie in November 1841, she suffered throughout the year after which she recovered. It is further known that during this time, she deeply suffered from depression and started to see spots on other people’s face.
This situation even made Albert worried. He also said to the doctor that Victoria is about to lose her mind due to this extreme condition of her depression. After a long time, during December 14, 1861, Albert died due to typhoid leaving Victoria all alone.
