Heartbreaking video captured 13-year-old Gianna Bryant playing basketball weeks before their helicopter crashed in California.
In the video shared on Instagram, Gigi can be seen showing off the skills she learned from her dad, Kobe Bryant. She can be seen wearing a dress and heels while scoring baskets as her teammates also play on the court.
Gigi seamlessly dribbled the basketball through her legs and behind her back.
The teen and her father were traveling with three other people in a helicopter when the aircraft crashed, taking the lives of everyone on board.
The exact cause of the crash is not yet determined. According to witnesses, they heard the helicopter’s engine crackling before it crashed near Kourtney Kardashian’s home.
Sources said to TMZ that the aircraft was on its way to Mamba Academy in Thousand Oaks.
Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported that another basketball player and parent were also onboard.
Gianna and Kobe are survived by his wife Vanessa and their three other children, Capri, Bianca and Natalia.
Kobe Bryant was known as one of the legendary basketball players of all time. He spent his two-decade career with the Lakers, winning 18 All-Star titles and 5 NBA championships before he retired in 2016.
Bella Hadid wrote on Instagram: “I can’t believe this… Rest in Peace King…. Thinking about Vanessa and their beautiful children during this time…”
Demi Lovato said: “This makes me so sad. Kobe you were always so sweet to me. Known you over 10 years.. not super well but we always joked about you coming over and playing that game of horse! You will be so missed by so many. You’re a legend with wings now. RIP Kobe.”
Tristan Thompson posted: “I hope this isn’t true man!!! Not Kobe.”
