Before we reveal how the puzzle can be solved, here’s another hint to get you going. Some of the same-colored icons don’t match entirely!
Did you manage to solve the puzzle yet? Is your answer 81? If yes, then congratulations, you are among the few people who can solve this tricky puzzle!
If your answer is different, don’t worry, you’re not alone and we’re here to help you solve the puzzle.
Here’s the breakdown of the math problem in question:
First of all, let’s presume that R stands for a red flower, B for blue, and Y for yellow.
LINE 1: R + R + R = 60, therefore 3R = 60 and R = 20 (this means that the value of a red flower is 20)
LINE 2: R + B + B = 30, therefore 20 + 2B = 30 and B = 5 (this means that the value of a blue flower with FIVE petals is 5)
LINE 3: B – 2Y = 3, therefore 5 – 2Y = 3 and 2Y = 2 (this means that the value of TWO yellow flowers is 2 and therefore a single yellow flower has the value of 1)
LINE 4: Y + R x B = 1 + 20 x 4 = 81
Keep in mind that the B in line 4 equals FOUR because the blue flower has FOUR petals. In the other two lines, B had the value of FIVE because the blue flowers featured five petals each. To get to the correct answer, you also have to follow a modern-day order of operations such as PEMDAS or BODMAS and do multiplication before addition.
