Russian President Vladimir Putin has spoken out about the assassination of Iranian terror chief General Qassem Soleimani and warned that the act could “seriously aggravate the situation in the region.
”
According to the reports, Putin expressed his worries during an emergency phone call with the French president, Emmanuel Macron.
The Russian President’s warning came amid the pleas of European countries and China for “restraint” and “stability.”
While Germany, France, and the UK were quick to call for peaceful handling of the situation, none of the EU countries appeared to vilify the elimination of one of Iran’s most renowned military figures.
“The killing of Soleimani … was an adventurist step that will increase tensions throughout the region.
Soleimani served the cause of protecting Iran’s national interests with devotion.
We express our sincere condolences to the Iranian people,” Russia’s foreign minister expressed.Despite global urges for restraint, however, Iran has promised to strike back and hoisted red flags signifying revenge, war, and blood spilled unjustly.
In addition, Iran has threatened the States with an attack on the White House and placed an $80 million bounty on President Trump whom they have dubbed an “assassin in a suit.”
Meanwhile, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani released a statement claiming that Iran will no longer adhere to the limitations that were agreed upon by signing the nuclear deal back in 2015.
As for the country’s MP Abolfazl Abutorabi, he threatened the U.S. with an attack initiated “on the American soil.”
“We can attack the White House itself, we can respond to them on the American soil. We have the power, and God willing we will respond in an appropriate time,” he said before saying “this is a declaration of war, which means if you hesitate you lose.”
Refusing to budge under the pressure of threats, Trump has promised Iran they would be “hit very hard” if they carry out an attack on “any American” or an American asset.
President Trump has also claimed the U.S. carried out the airstrike on Soleimani to “stop a war not start a war.”
“We took action last night to stop a war. We did not take action to start a war,” the POTUS said.
“Soleimani was plotting imminent and sinister attacks on American diplomats and military personnel, but we caught him in the act and terminated him.
“Under my leadership America’s policy is unambiguous to terrorists who harm or intend to harm any American. We will find you. We will eliminate you. We will always protect our diplomats, service members, all Americans and our allies.”
