‘Normal life won’t resume until 2021.
’
This is not some rumor caught up on Twitter, but an actual statement from the President of the Federation of American Scientists, Ali Nouri. He has officially commented through the Daily Mail that unless a vaccine is in sight of being available for mass produce and in circulation, chances of you getting out of your houses anytime soon will be scarce.
And the development? It may need over a year to come about.
He is the adequate doctor for his job, learned in virology and all branches of biology related to public health. And using all the expertise he has, he warns of the people hoping for a sudden ‘summer getaway’ or a lenient policy during the hot season.
He has even stated that the coronavirus was ‘unprecedented’ in modern history, and would not be completely conquered in one fell swoop of some form.
‘We will certainly have to continue these stay at home orders for I suspect at least through the end of May, or perhaps some time in June,’ the FAS Presdient proclaimed in detail,
‘There’s not going to be a time when there is a magic date and then everybody goes back to their lives as normal. That’s not going to happen for a long time.
‘Once June comes around, once July comes around, it’s not going to be the kind of situation where people are going to be going to crowded restaurants and movie theaters. Things are going to be different, I suspect, until we have the vaccine.’
Nouri compared the situation in the US with that happening in Wuhan, China. He cited the fact that Wuhan, with all its crackdown effort, is still enforcing partial, but severe, lockdown policy implementation.
As the US has lots to go to see any source of recessive growth in the curve, even way behind the epicenter of the pandemic itself, he warns that there should be no happy imaginative naivete on behalf of the general public.
‘That really tells you that this virus has the potential to really flare up again, even in places that have flattened the curve,’ Nouri added.
‘If we do really do a good job of flattening that curve and reducing the number of transmissions from person to person, we still have to be very careful while we lift those restrictions.
‘What’s really different about this novel coronavirus is that it’s this combination of both being very contagious and then also at the same time being about 10 times more lethal than the flu.’
Since 2018, Nouri is the incumbent head of the FAS prior to that he served in Congress, aide to Senators Jim Webb and Al Franken for over a decade.
