The households have been warned to stay aware of the fake emails that are coming in by the fraudsters who are trying to steal personal information about other people.
The fraud reporting service has got more than 2,504 complaints about the fake emails from TV licensing as the senders are a fraud.
The emails say that if you do not update the information then your TV license will be canceled. This way the fraud people are stealing personal details about other people.
The email consists of a link that takes you to a page where it asks you to fill your personal and financial details.
Even if the website looks real, the mails are coming in by the fraudsters who are just doing it with the intention of stealing personal information from others.
The reporting agency warns everyone saying that they should not click on such emails or respond to any emails that ask you for your personal or financial details.
The fraudsters were sending emails to people for payments and updating their information for TV licensing. A lot of people complained about the emails and how they are taking away all the information.
There has been a lot of loss reported by the people who filled in the information on the fake links.
Even though you need a license for the color TV and good program channels, you need to avoid filling in the information because it is coming through the fraudsters.
No matter however genuine you feel that the website looks like, just avoid filling in the information on these links because it’s fake and a way to steal your information.
