About 4000 people gathered in the Mojave Desert in California for an annual festival called Wasteland Weekend which is celebrated post-apocalyptic.
The festival first started when the Mad Max series came out as the people were too inspired by it and started a real-life festival that takes place every year now and just celebrated its 10th anniversary. To celebrate the anniversary of the festival with celebration, masses of folks showed up in the desert.
Created by the three, Jared Butler, Karol Bartoszynski, and James Howard, the festival first took place in 2010 and since then each year people dress up in post-apocalyptic costumes for a week during the festival.
The festival takes place in the same place each year which stands in between the Nevada nuclear test site. It is the same place where about 928 nuclear bombs were tested during the cold war and Hollywood too.
It is said that no one is allowed to enter the festival without a costume and one has to live in a costume for all 5 days of the festival and if someone tries to make an entry without a costume than it is said that the participants start chanting ‘Needs-more-dirt.’
If you are looking for a full-proof post-apocalyptic fantasy then this is just the right festival for you because you will be stunned by the aura, the theme of the campsite where you will live for 5 long days, the fire dance acts, the live bands, and the DJ.
Last year the festival even had a cage for a battlefield.
The festival does not belong to the time we live in and will take you to a whole new world as last year they even had a bartering ground where people could exchange anything in return for anything they like.
If you are around the place, it is a must for you to visit this festival at least once in a lifetime. You will thank us later.
