A wedding videography and photography company has come under fire after refusing to refund their customer and mocking the man after the death of his fiancée.
Justin Montney has been on the mission to expose Copper Stallion Media on social media after the company told him there was no way he would get back the $1,800 deposit for the requested services after his fiancée died in a tragic car accident.
After the grieving young man got informed he wouldn’t be getting his deposit back despite the unique circumstances, Montney decided to share his story on social media and leave the company a bad review.
In an attempt to make his voice heard, the man also reached out to local media, KRDO, to tell his story and insist he should have been refunded due to his circumstances despite the contract saying the deal was non-refundable.
As Montney claimed, the company offered him to use the deposit for his next wedding, something that he found to be “a very insensitive thing” to say to a person who’s just lost a loved one.
After Montney’s story went viral, the Copper Stallion Media created websites about Justin Montney on which they mocked the man and accused him of damaging their reputation.
“Since this smear campaign started, we have received numerous emails, phone calls and comments online. We are documenting everything to build our case against Justin Montney. We have acquired this domain name for the next two years,” the company wrote.
On social media, the company doubled down on their insensitive comments and told Justin they hope he would “sob and cry all day” on what should be his wedding day.
“Today would have been the day where we would have filmed Justin and Alexis’ wedding in Colorado Springs,” they wrote.
“After what Justin pulled with the media stunt to try and shake us down for a refund, we hope you sob and cry all day for what would have been your wedding day. Sorry, not sorry.”
