A newlywed couple has been slammed for their ‘pathetic’ catering after an upset guest shared pictures of the humble spread consisting of processed cheese, carrot and celery sticks, and orange wedges with stickers still on them on Facebook.
According to the pictures of the unidentified guest who shared them on a ‘wedding shaming’ Facebook group, everything from vegetables sticks to sad-looking brownies appears as a rather unusual wedding catering choice.
“A wedding feast for your eyes,” the disappointed guest captioned his photos.
Soon enough, baffled social media users rallied to slam the couple and their choice of foods for their wedding day.
“This is basically what we served at my three-year-old’s birthday party. Except we had quiche and strawberries,” one commenter wrote.
“This is what happens when you ask your family to cook for your wedding,” another one said.
“They took the time to unwrap hundreds of slices of fake cheese but couldn’t be bothered to take the sticker off the fruit?” someone questioned.
“I don’t even know how they cut orange that way. It must have made it harder as usually, you cut in half then into quarters. That looks like a third,” another said.
While plenty of commenters worked together to bash the newlywed couple, some people quickly rushed to their aid and defended their choices.
“I’d be glad I hadn’t spent a fortune on food to feed this so-called friend if I were this couple… how mean of them to shame like this,” one person wrote.
“Exactly! Let them enjoy their wedding memories untarred and feathered! It is a day for THEM to enjoy not to celebrate you and your whims,” another one added.
