Wendy Williams Succumbs to Her Emotions on Air and Admits to Getting Treatment for Addiction

Wendy Williams, 54, who was a famous television host, opened up on March 19 that is getting treated for addiction. She also confirmed her stay at the sober house.

During one of the episodes of “The Wendy Williams Show,” she made this moving statement on camera.

William declared that she has been living in a sober house and that she had been struggling with addiction to cocaine for the past few years.

Williams was not specific about the substance for which she was going through a cure but confirmed that it was the very first time for her to opt for any such treatments.

She admitted that in spite of her struggle with cocaine during the earlier days, she did not call on for help, but now things have gone to such a height that she needs to get treatment.

She said she feels opening up on such an issue is necessary because there might be people in someone’s family, or someone might have a friend, someone himself/herself may be suffering from such an issue.

She further revealed how drugs were a demon she had to fight, thus wanted to aware her audiences through her show.

Williams also mentioned that only Kevin Hunter, her husband, who was aware of her abode in the sober house.

Her parents, her admirers, and followers knew nothing of this treatment that she was going through. She always maintained a glamorous look that kind of deceived the truth behind.

She said that it was her sober coach who drove her to live in a house with some of the smelly boys in the tri-state, and those boys have almost become a family to her.

She also revealed how different her new routine is because the doors of her sober house get closed at 10 pm and lights get off at 10 pm. So, she has to fall asleep just then, and her only outside contact is the audience of her show.

Williams’s openness regarding her past struggle with drugs was put forward in People magazine.

Williams exclaimed that even after being a drug addict for long, it was a miracle for her to overcome the same, and she is living sober now.

She tweeted about an organization called Hunter Foundation, a non-profit organization founded jointly by her husband and her, as a means for drug prevention, education, and remedy programs.
