Westlife’s singer Mark Feehily has surprised his fans as he shared the great news that he welcomed his first child into this world together with his boyfriend Cailean O’Neill.
Expressing his gratitude for the miracle of life on Twitter, the 39-year-old star wrote:
“Baby Layla born safe & sound @ 7.27pm on October 1st 2019! We’re the happiest Dads in the world! X”
Mark and Cailean, who are engaged as of this writing, have announced that they were expecting a baby girl, who happens to be their first child, back in May. The child is believed to be the result of surrogacy.
The Flying Without Wings hitmaker claimed they were “beyond excited” for their baby who represents the “proudest moment” of their lives.
“Thanks for all the Birthday wishes everyone!! It really makes this my most special birthday EVER to let everyone know that later this year we will become Dads for the first time…” the couple wrote in their post accompanied by an ultrasound scan back when they announced they were getting a baby.
“This is the proudest moment of our lives and we are beyond excited to say it out loud! ❤️ M&Cx.”
The couple announced they were engaged back in February following six years of a happy relationship. During that time, Mark has also admitted it was his dream to become a parent and have children who would run around him.
“I would love to have my own kids running around one day. Listen, that is absolutely a dream for me when it happens. I say when it happens because it will happen…” Mark said in an interview with The Mail.

“When the two come together it is the perfect harmony and that is where I am at and hopefully it will stay like that.”
