World Health Organization’s Director-General Faces Calls To Resign For ‘Allowing China To Cover Up True Impact Of Coronavirus’

The World Health Organization’s director-general is facing calls to step down amid criticism that his organization failed to oversee China’s response to coronavirus and worked to downplay the country’s responsibility for the crisis.

She also claimed that the 55-year-old ‘deceived the world’ and praised the communist nation’s ‘transparency.’

Senator McSally also said that she ‘never trusted a communist’ and that the Chinese government ‘cover-up of this virus that originated with them has caused unnecessary deaths around America and around the world… I think Dr Tedros needs to step down.”

She added: “Dr Tedros deceived the world. At one point, he even praised China’s ‘transparency during its coronavirus response efforts” despite a mountain of evidence showing the regime concealed the severity of the outbreak. This deception cost lives.”

When China reported 17,238 coronavirus infections and 361 deaths in February, Tedros said that there was no need to carry out travel restrictions.

He also praised the Chinese government on March 20, saying: “For the first time, #China has reported no domestic #COVID19 cases yesterday. This is an amazing achievement, which gives us all reassurance that the #coronavirus can be beaten.”

China has officially recovered over 81,000 cases with more than 3,300 deaths. However, activists in Wuhan, where coronavirus outbreak started, claimed morgues are handing out 500 urns per day.

Long lines at the funeral homes also ignited doubts on China’s reported numbers, prompting claims that over 42,000 could have passed away in Wuhan.

A whistleblowing medic, who alerted the world about the issue in Hubei province, was sanctioned by police and medical authorities.

A spokesperson for him told The Washington Free Beacon: “The World Health Organization has consistently bent to the will of the Chinese Communist Party at the expense of global health and of containing the spread of the coronavirus, from downplaying the extent of the virus to systematically excluding Taiwan.point 263 | 1

“Sen. Cruz believes that the WHO has lost the credibility necessary for it to be effective, and a reevaluation of its leadership is urgently called for.”

Marco Rubio of Florida also said: “Once this pandemic is under control, WHO leadership should be held to account. That includes Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who has allowed Beijing to use the WHO to mislead the global community.”

He added: “At this moment, [Tedros] is either complicit or dangerously incompetent. Neither possibility bodes well for his future at the helm of this critical organization.”
