A woman shot her police officer husband moments before taking her own life in a tragic murder-suicide.
The incident took place in Waldorf, Maryland, where 41-year-old Christina Lynn Francis was found dead alongside her 50-year-old husband, Detective Timothy Eugene Francis, in their family home on Friday evening.
According to the authorities, evidence suggests that the wife fatally shot her husband before taking her own life just hours after recalling their life together in an emotional Facebook post.
The official cause of death is yet to be confirmed by the coroner’s office. The motive for the shooting hasn’t been determined as of this writing. The investigation continues.
“This day meant everything to me,” Christian wrote in her Facebook post as she recalled the couple’s wedding just hours before the grisly murder-suicide.
“I love you and what we had together… We had 6 years of experience and memories that should have taken presence over everything in everything we did but [we] got lost in petty sh** you believed was a mistake.”
Concluding her post, the 41-year-old wrote: “Tim and Christina Francis together.”
In another post that followed, the mother also paid a tribute to her two children whom she dubbed her “pride and joy.”
Following the couple’s death, MPD Chief Peter Newsham paid a tribute to the veteran Homicide Unit’s Natural Squad detective.
“Mourning the tragic loss of our colleague and friend is extremely difficult. Detective Francis spent two decades protecting the community from violence, and to learn that he was the victim of a homicide is heartbreaking,” Newsham said in a statement as reported by WUSA9.

Tim was a stand up guy that always held his ground. We are all still reeling from this news. The MPD has lost a true detective today and he will not soon be replaced. ”
