A loving mother and a busy wife have come up with a perfect April Fools’ Day prank to get back at her ‘lazy’ husband who refused to help her out with her chores on a busy day.
To get her sweet revenge, Karen Alpert wrote a special shopping list and sent her husband to a supermarket, warning the man that some of the items on the grocery list might be hard to find.
The mum-of-two, who is also a blogger known as Baby Sideburns, shared the fake shopping list on her Facebook page and explained that her hubby was lying around doing nothing the whole morning before she sent him to the supermarket.
“OMG my hubby has been lying on the couch all morning while I’m doing sooooo much stuff so I finally got super annoyed and sent him to the grocery store… with a special shopping list. And yes I turned my ringer off,” the mother wrote in her post.
In the fake shopping list, Karen included:
“3% milk, seedless strawberries, fat-free hummus, wheat thing (the ones in the blue box), unsour cream, diet diet coke (you might have to ask because it’s new), mellow cheese, and organic pop tarts.”
Her idea soon went viral with thousands of people applauding her and copying her prank to get back at their own partners.
“I sent my man to the store for black pepper and his text saying ‘I only see red green and yellow peppers. No black,’” one person commented under Karen’s post.
“This is awesome! But to my husband even a regular list would pose the same challenges,” another one said.
“Jokes on her. All he read was: Milk, Strawberries, Hummus, Snack chips, Coke, Pop tarts,” one person joked. “He’ll be home in 25 mins and twenty of that is driving.”
