A woman has claimed to have found her wedding ring, which was missing for six years after her dog swallowed a whole ice pop and threw up.
As Lois Matykowski revealed, she was left devastated after her wedding ring had gone missing six years ago. Despite her frantic search, she had never found the ring until her dog stepped in.
“My husband and I had been married for 20 years at that time,” the woman recalled in an interview with ABC News. “We had just upgraded the ring, and it wasn’t insured. And it wasn’t just the value, but also the emotional ties. How do you replace that?”
Fortunately, the lost ring found its way back on Lois’ finger after her 10-year-old dog Tucker swallowed an entire ice pop and threw up the contents of his stomach.
“Just when I turned around and looked at my granddaughter, the popsicle was gone already. And there was Tucker smacking his jaws,” Mrs. Matykowski said.
After throwing up the stick of the ice pop, everything turned back to normal until Tucker got ‘sick’ again two days later.
“He was making goofy noises, and was acting like he was going to throw up,” Lois added.
Following another mess, the wife was shocked to see something sparkling in Tucker’s vomit. After cleaning it all up with a tissue, she noticed a diamond ring that she’d been missing for six years.
“I screamed. I kid you not,” Louis expressed. “My friends have been telling me: ‘I want a dog that throws up diamonds.’”
As Tucker’s veterinarian later confirmed, the huge ice pop the dog swallowed could be the reason why the ring stuck in Tucker’s stomach got dislodged.
“He loves anything that smells good. He will eat whatever he could get his hands on. We try to stick to dog treats, but he is 55 pounds and his front paws can grab snacks pretty easily,” Lois admitted after the incident.
