The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended a joint engagement in Greenwich, South London and said they are ‘looking forward’ to meeting Harry and Meghan’s newborn baby.
William and Kate arrived to launch the inaugural King’s Cup Regatta at the Cutty Sark, in south-east London.
William joked: ‘I’m very pleased and glad to welcome my own brother into the sleep deprivation society that is parenting.’
Kate said: ‘It’s such a special time, obviously with Louis and Charlotte just having had their birthdays, it’s such a great time of year to have a baby. Spring is in the air.’
The Duchess of Cambridge added: ‘As William said, we’re looking forward to meeting him and finding out what his name’s going to be so so it’s really exciting for both of them and we wish them all the best. These next few weeks are always a bit daunting the first time around so we wish them all the best.’
Kate looked absolutely gorgeous in a chic outfit that consisted of a striped Breton top and LK Bennett trousers while a red clutch bag added a pop of color to her look.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their first child on Monday. The Duke of Sussex announced during a TV statement that the ‘little thing is absolutely to-die-for’ and called the birth ‘the most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined’.
Prince Harry said: ‘Mother and baby are doing incredibly well. It’s been amazing, so we just wanted to share this with everybody.’
‘How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension, but we’re both absolutely thrilled and so grateful to all the love and support from everybody out there.’
