Living in a castle is a dream for many but none of us can afford that for obvious reasons.
However, your dream of living in a castle can come true, thanks to this offer from the Queen herself. Not just any castle, it is for the Windsor Castle.
The latest royal job opening comes with a promise of attending the royal parties with the British royal family at the Windsor Castle – but as a cleaner.
Definitely, you won’t be entitled to the typical royal lifestyle but, still, how many people get a chance of living in an actual castle?
The job position that is listed on the website of the British royal family is for a Daily Cleaner.
According to the job description, the responsibilities of the selected individual will include maintenance and cleaning of a ‘wide range of interiors and items.’
The royal residence where the successful candidate will be posted is the Windsor Castle, a palace with 1,000 rooms, which means the job could be fairly hectic.
The requirements for the job include ‘previous housekeeping experience and a sharp eye for detail,’ because the Queen and her family are very keen about maintaining their residence in a good shape.
However, it doesn’t mean you’ll be carrying a vacuum cleaner around to clean the 1,000 rooms her Majesty and her family use. The new employee will have to assist the existing staff in cleaning activities during functions and events that are held at the palace.
The job post instructs the selected candidate to ‘use your enthusiasm and passion to deliver the exceptional.’
The job will require working for 30 hours each week, Monday to Saturday, and you can apply for it before November 24. The compensation for this work will be $19,000 a year.
If you have a different skill set, there’s another job opening from the royals for the position of a Liveried Helper to take care of the horses at the royal stable at Buckingham Palace.
Paying $28,000 a year plus benefits, along with 33 paid leaves a year, this job includes residence in the palace. All meals are also covered by the palace kitchen.
The duties of this job include keeping the horses ready for ceremonies at all times, exercising and training them, and maintaining the saddles, harnesses, and stables in a good shape.
