A very lucky woman spotted a majestic albino buck roaming around her backyard.
Tracy Weese was looking across her snow-covered yard in Wisconsin when she noticed the spectacular creature.
She shared two photos of the albino buck on Facebook, writing: “His Majesty just strolled through our backyard.”
The Vilas County Sherriff’s Office then shared the photo of the albino buck, calling the breathtaking creature ‘an incredible sight to see.’
Weese’s photos have gained over 8,000 shares, with many people calling the animal ‘stunning’ and ‘majestic.’
Weese said the buck was albino and not a piebald.
Pied animals or piebald have a pattern of unpigmented areas on a pigmented background of scales, feathers or hair. She also explained that the brown spots on the buck’s head was “from him rubbing his antlers and head on trees when shedding his white velvet.”
She added: “The brown stain on his leg is his tarsal gland releasing his scent as he’s in rut (deer mating season). He looks different right now due to rut.”
It is not clear how big the buck is but the average deer measures from 6 to 7ft and can weigh up to 300lbs.
Ed Clark, the president and co-founder of the Wildlife Center of Virginia, said to Associated Press: “They are an unusual sight because they either have multiple physical problems and die early or because of predation.
“Protecting them would not be doing the deer population any good because it would pass the recessive genes into more herds.”
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources said it is illegal to hunt an “all-white deer which is entirely white other than the hooves, tarsal glands, head and parts of the head.”
