A woman has been arrested after her three large dogs escaped from her home and attacked an elderly lady at a nearby park.
The incident occurred in Dallas, Texas, where three pit bulls owned by 44-year-old Martha Yescas-Lira dug a hole underneath the fence and escaped their home.
After getting to a nearby park, the Beckley Heights Park, the dogs launched an attack at 76-year-old Maria Robledo, leaving her with “serious bodily injury.”
According to the reports, the woman was instantly hospitalized and treated for a dislocated arm, bites to her body and the head, and a broken hand.
Fortunately, the senior woman has already been released from the hospital whereas her condition has been stabilized.
After the attack, the police tracked the three dogs to the home of Martha and came across the hole in the ground that the dogs dug out and escaped through.
While the animals were handed over to Dallas Animal Service, the officers arrested the owner and charged her with “attack by a dog” resulting in “serious bodily injury.”
As one of the witnesses of the attack reported, he attempted to stop the dogs by running over them with his car. However, even the car going at them at 50 miles per hour wasn’t enough.
“Jumped the curb into the field and hit all of the dogs at 50 miles an hour, twice and they still got away! I wanted to kill them. I didn’t want to hurt them, I wanted them dead when I saw what they did to that woman,” Michael Jensen said in an interview with NBC5.
