People usually have dogs and cats, and we don’t always hear someone who has an elephant as a pet.
These beautiful creatures live in the wild and like to be with their kind.
But for some reason, one little fellow loves to be with his human friend that he follows her anywhere she goes.
Roxy Danckwerts, the founder of Wild Is Life animal sanctuary, was working when she noticed a baby elephant that seemed to be separated from its family. The creature almost drowned in a river while trying to cross it, and he was in severe condition.
The baby elephant, who was only a few days old at that time, was successfully rescued from the shores of Lake Kariba. However, it became extremely difficult to find his herd as there were no elephants in the area.
That’s when Roxy decided to take good care of the very malnourished elephant, and they eventually became best buddies.
Because the baby elephant weighed only 56 kg (a baby elephant is supposed to weigh around 95 kg), Roxy gave him 18 liters of formula every day.
The two spent a lot of time together and the adorable creature, named Moyo, became so fond of Roxy that he follows her everywhere she goes.
Moyo is now 5 years old. He has become so attached to his rescuer that he doesn’t let her out of his sight. He always visits the kitchen, eating brownies, peanuts, and salt.
He is growing up so fast that their house will soon become too small for him.
Luckily for this cute elephant, there is plenty of space for him to play in the wildlife sanctuary.
