A young woman has given birth to twins belonging to different fathers in a rare incident that took place in Xiamen, China.
As the DNA results of the baby twins came back proving that the twins belonged to two fathers, the newly-found mother had some explaining to do.
According to a Chinese newspaper, the woman had a one-night stand with a stranger before having sex with her husband.
In the rare incident known as heteropaternal superfecundation, both of the woman’s eggs got fertilized, each by sperm cells of a different man.
The story first came to light after the couple attempted to register the birth of twins at a local police station. In order to finalize the process, the couple had to go through a paternity test.
Following the shocking results, the husband of the woman and the father of one of the twins, Xiaolong, finally got the answer to why one of the babies looked different.
According to Mr. Zhang, the director of Fujian Zhengtai Forensic Identification Centre, the husband was left furious after reading the results.
After confronting his wife, the woman initially denied having an affair and even accused her husband of falsifying the documents to make her feel bad.
As Xiaolong continued to interrogate his wife, however, she eventually budged under the pressure and admitted to having a one-night stand with a stranger.
After coming to the bottom of the truth, the father said that he was more than happy to take care of his own child but refused to raise or provide for the baby she had with the other guy.
