A 22-year-old woman with a ‘massive booger she could not remove’ finally got rid of a blue bead that had been stuck in her sinuses for two decades.
Hannah Hamilton said she was only 3 when she stuck the bead up her nose where it got stuck. She did not tell anyone about it and soon forgot about the piece of plastic.
The item then moved to her sinuses where it remained undetected for twenty years.
But when she recently contracted a severe sinus infection, she felt a hard and massive booger at the top of her nose.
That’s when she remembered she had stuck something up her nose. After some digging, she finally pulled out the 20-year-old bead from her nostril.
Hannah took to TikTok where she shared her appalling experience.
“You know those memories you have from being really little, like three to five years old, that you don’t know if they’re real or they’re something you saw in a TV show, or that your parents told you or something like that? So you’re not really sure if they’re real, but you remember them?” she said in the clip.
“When I was like three, I remember sticking a bead up my nose and being like, it’s not coming out. I didn’t tell anyone,” Hannah shared.
“I don’t know why, but I didn’t tell anyone I got this bead stuck up my nose and forgot about it.” She then went years without remembering about the item until she had contracted a bad sinus infection.
“I had a sinus infection a couple weeks ago and I had this massive booger I could not get out,” she said. “It would not come out, it was super painful, and it was bothering me.
“It was really painful, and I was trying to get it out. I was blowing my nose really aggressively, really hard. I couldn’t get it out.”
Hannah decided to buy an ear wax removal tool with a camera and put it inside her nose to see if this could help her locate the blockage. That’s when she saw a blue item stuck in her nose.
“That brought back that memory of that bead from when I was like three years old,” she expressed.
“I finally got it out, it was very painful. But a bead, a blue bead that has been in my nose for 20 years, just came out of my nose. Twenty years I’ve been living with a bead inside my nose and I had no idea.”
Internet users were quick to leave comments, with one writing: “Use it as your something blue at your wedding. It’s an heirloom now.”
Another wrote: “That bead what there when you graduated, when you had your first date, your first heartbreak, first car. It has been there for you when you were at your lowest, when you hit rock bottom, [and] it stuck around. If that’s not a true friend I don’t know what is.”
A third added: “Tell me something that lives rent-free in your head.”
