A woman is being investigated after she bragged about intentionally infecting several people with HIV in a video she shared online.
Brandi Yakeima Lasiter from Americus, Georgia, USA, appeared in a live Facebook video in which she listed the names of people, including four men and their partners, who she allegedly infected with HIV on purpose.
The disturbing claim immediately attracted the authorities and the Americus PD is now investigating the matter and the allegations.
“Motherf*****s play with me, I told ya, I’m a evil motherf*****. I’m evil as hell. I get real nasty and evil,” the woman ranted in her short clip.
Besides naming the guys she supposedly infected, she also listed down the names of their partners claiming they probably contracted the virus from their men.
“I always get the last laugh, I’m going to watch y’all die,” she added.
According to the authorities, intentionally transmitting HIV is illegal and if the woman is found guilty of the act she could face up to 20 years in jail based on felony charges. If the video turns out to be a hoax, however, the woman could still face a prison sentence for false claims.
“It is quite alarming to anyone in any community and we asked everyone to – if you are going to engage in risky behavior – to also practice safe sex,” Major Herman Lamar of the Americus PD said.
According to the HIV.gov, as many as 1.1 million people in the US alone are living with HIV. Out of all those, approximately 15% don’t know they have the virus.
Without proper treatment, HIV progressively weakens one’s immune system and causes the body to become more prone to contracting diseases and infections.
