A female student is receiving plenty of backlash from online viewers who termed her as an ’embarrassing and easy’ individual for proposing to her boyfriend.
The young woman was called out by viewers for popping the question as they felt it was always a male’s responsibility to do so. Hence, due to the reversal of roles in the relationship, feminists went about slamming her too. Some even went to the great extent of accusing her of stealing her partner’s job by failing to follow the ‘tradiational’ rules when it came to proposing.
24-year-old Ukabed Sheybani who hails from Sweden shared her story with the world and how she met her boyfriend through the Tinder platform this year. Moreover, the student says that she felt fabulous and confident about the bond she shared with her partner and hence for that reason, got down on one knee to pop the question.
The big moment took place while the couple was on a trip to Istanbul, and the beautiful moment was captured by one of her closest friends.
But after sharing her story with the world, the student says she’s surprised by the amount of backlash she received from online viewers for her actions and that entailed not doing things the traditional way.
“Most women who claim to be feminists say I stole his role while slamming me as someone that’s embarrassing and easy for behaving this way,” she added.
But in response to that, Ukabed claims that she is no feminist when it comes to love and proposals and that’s why she sees no problem in doing what she does.
The proposal was shared as a video where Ukabed gets down on one knee and proposes to her boyfriend of three months whose name is Cherno Ameri.
After the proposal, the video captured the heartfelt moment of surprise that her now-fiance felt after realizing her gesture.
After getting down on one knee, she even put a ring on it, giving it that complete romantic touch. What are your thoughts about a woman popping the question to her partner? Do you think it is appropriate to do things in a non-traditional manner?
