A young woman was left with broken hips after resting her feet on top of the dashboard of the car she was riding in.
As seen in the horrific X-ray following the car accident, one of the woman’s hips got dislocated while the other one suffered a terrible break.
According to the reports, the victim was riding in the passenger’s seat with her feet placed on the dashboard when the car got involved in an accident.
After the incident, Wales-based Sergeant Ian Price shared the shocking X-ray on the internet in order to raise awareness about the dangers of resting feet on top of the dashboard of a moving car.
“Here is an X-ray of horrific injuries sustained to the front seat passenger who had their feet on the dashboard at the time of a collision,” Mr. Price warned.
“If you see your passenger doing it stop driving and show them this.”
While the woman who suffered the terrible hips damage survived the ordeal, she was left with “life-changing” injuries.
As the authorities have warned plenty of times, resting feet on the dashboard of a moving car is extremely dangerous even though it may not be illegal.
After the police officer’s post went viral, people were quick to share their own experiences and promise not to repeat the woman’s mistakes.
“I am 60 and have put feet on dash many times in my life… I know I will be stopping it now and will be sharing this post around everyone I know,” someone wrote.
“I mean I knew it could be dangerous but I never thought it could literally lead to broken hips and life-changing injuries,” another one said.
