A 20-year-old woman tried to kidnap a mother’s toddler while her back was turned.
Fortunately, the kidnapper was stopped by a store worker who saw that the toddler was with a different woman when he entered the store.
The CCTV footage showed the woman walking out of the store while pushing the stroller when the store worker stopped her.
The worker then called over the toddler’s mother, Soraya, and the child was returned to her.
The mother reported the incident to the police and the Spanish Civil Guard arrested the woman.
She was brought to a psychiatric hospital to undergo tests but local media reported that she was later released.
According to reports, the woman was originally from the Ivory Coast and has lived in Almeria for the last two years.
Even though rumors surfaced online that a trafficking gang was working in the area, the Civil Guard denied it. Further investigation is still ongoing.
In another incident, a woman was charged with trying to abduct a two-year-old at a Pensacola court.
The child’s mother, Britney Arias, said she is now scared for her child and family’s safety after the incident.
“My child is suffering from trauma for her and it’s not fair,” Arias expressed.
The mother said she was shopping at the Dollar General when a woman tried to lure her toddler with a toy.
“He reached out to grab the horn of the unicorn and when he reached his hand out to grab it she grabbed a hold of him. She repeatedly said he looked like his brother in mommy’s tummy and kept referring himself as his mom,” Arias shared, adding the woman wouldn’t let go of her son.
The mother managed to pull her son away from the kidnapper. “He’s scared. He used to love everybody but now everyone’s a stranger to him.”
