92-year-old Anna Mae Blessing shot her son Thomas, 72, in July after he and his partner, Julie, talked about putting her in a nursing home.
The elderly woman who didn’t want to go to a nursing home revealed that she killed her son in cold blood and sat in a chair while waiting for the police to come.
She had two weapons, one was kept in her robe when she shot Thomas at their Arizona home after a heated argument.
Anna passed away after four months while awaiting trial.
In her confession video, she is seen napping on a table and telling officers how tired is while discussing the murder.
She said: “He was coming at me so I fired the gun. I took his pulse and there was no pulse so I knew I’d killed him.”
When asked how she felt upon realizing he was dead, she answered: “I didn’t have much of a feeling.”
Thomas’ girlfriend, Julie, took the weapon out of her hands but she had another one kept in her robe.
Anna just waited while Julie called police. “I was going to shoot her,” she admitted. However, she changed her mind.
The elderly woman said she “went to the bedroom, sat in the chair and waited for the police to come.”
Telling her motive to police, she said: “I didn’t want to go into a nursing home and he promised me I would never have to.”
Many times during the confession, she rested on the table and took naps. “I am so damn tired, I don’t know,” she expressed.
She then told officers she deserved to be in jail. “What can I do for society? I killed my son.”
Anna had a stroke last year and was released into hospice care where she remained until she passed away.
