In an attempt to stay on the safe side, the woman self-isolated her home for weeks but managed to contract the novel coronavirus nevertheless.

According to Brummert, she believes that the groceries she had delivered to her doorstep were responsible for passing the virus onto her.

“I really thought I was doing everything right. I barely had any contact. I didn’t even touch [the deliverywoman],” Brummert, who had been self-isolating from everyone, including her husband, said in an interview with WCNC.

“I’m absolutely terrified. This is the sickest I’ve ever been and it’s the most scared I’ve ever been. From what I’m hearing about ventilators, it’s scary stuff. I’m really hoping I can wait this out at home.”

As the woman allegedly told WCNC, she didn’t think about wearing gloves as she took the food bags into her house.
