A woman hasn’t used her car for many days after finding a frightening creature under the car door handle.
The terrified woman from Australia shared a photo of her vehicle on Facebook, writing: “Thought it was hairy caterpillars at first. Haven’t used my car for a week.”
The mysterious critter can be seen resting under the door handle but a close-up photo shows its hairy legs.
Her photos were posted on the Australian spider identification Facebook page, where moderators said they had to remove some of the comments as people started sharing their extreme reactions after seeing the large arachnid, which has been identified as a banded huntsman.
“I like spiders but I’m sure I’d need new undies if I put my hand under there unknowingly,” one person commented.
Another wrote: “This has now given me massive anxiety.”
A third added: “Poor thing might have been burning on the metal of the car and seeking shade… or something a bit cooler and got stuck there waiting it out after that heat over the weekend.”
Someone else shared: “When I was in Australia an Aussie mate of mine showed me a sea snail and explained that it can kill you. We also had a Whip Snake come into the house. I can tell you something I did the 100 meters faster the Usain Bolt could even dream of, and I was on crutches at the time. The one thing I am terrified of is snakes.
“The only thing that did bite me out there was green ants or Weaver Ants as they are know. Sat by a gum tree and was bitten loads of times it was one of the most painful bites I ever had.”
