A woman was shocked after realizing that her family member had ‘stolen’ her engagement ring from the table where she put it.
As a South African bride-to-be revealed, she was stunned after returning to her living room only to find out that her engagement ring had gone missing while she was gone.
After taking a quick look around her home, the woman noticed her dog Pepper sitting still with a suspicious look on her face.
While the bride couldn’t be sure if Pepper was responsible for her missing ring or not, she was convinced enough to take her to the Valley Farm Animal Hospital and have her examined.
“The easiest way to see if something metal has been swallowed is to take a radiograph. Sure enough, one quick X-ray of Pepper’s abdomen showed a very obvious ring-shaped metal object in her stomach,” Julia van Draanen of Valley Farm Animal Hospital said in an interview with The Dodo.
“There would have been four ways to get the ring back — we took the easiest as it was still in the stomach and not passed through to the intestines.”
After giving Pepper a dose of vomit-inducing medication, it took the vets just minutes to get the pooch to throw up and retrieve the missing ring.
Fortunately, both Pepper and the ring made it out unscathed. As for the dog owner, she admitted she’s going to be more careful about where she puts her ring in the future.
