Police officers were stunned when a foolish drug user called in to complain that she had been sold brown sugar instead of cocaine.
The $264(£200) purchase she made left her contacting the police in Craigavon, Northern Ireland, to report about the scam.
Officers shared the exchange on their Facebook page, warning other people about such strange transactions.
The post on the Facebook page of Police Service of Northern Ireland, Craigavon described the exchange between the officer and the disgruntled caller.
The message below the conversation read: “Bizarrely, they didn’t want to provide a statement! Weird that.
“We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again- drug dealers care about NOTHING other than lining their own pockets.
“Granted, it’s not exactly the sort of slick wheeling and dealing business savvy that would see you go the distance on The Apprentice, but it shouldn’t surprise anyone that drug dealers are scammers!
“If you’ve been scammed by your dealer and would like pay back, call 101, PM us, or phone Crimestoppers on 0800555111.
“A dishonest drug dealer. What’s the world coming to?!”
One Facebook user commented: “Thought it was a sweet deal….”
Another wrote: “What is the world coming to when we cant trust our friendly neighborhood drug dealer?”
A third said: “Although not advisable to report it to the police, it is likely safer than complaining to the dealer.”
