A Florida woman has started a hilarious debate on social media after saying she spotted a “small dinosaur” running across her yard.
As Cristina Ryan from Palm Coast explained, she caught a dinosaur-like creature on a security camera while the animal was making its way past her home.
In the footage, an animal that at first sight appears to be running on its hind legs is seen moving past Ryan’s property. Amazed by the animal’s style, the homeowner suggested its moves resembled the movement of a velociraptor.
“Any animal we can come up with that would be ‘walking’ at 3:40 in the morning, wouldn’t walk this way. Maybe I’ve watched Jurassic Park too many times, but I see a raptor or other small dinosaur!” Ryan said in an interview with FOX 35 News.
“Some say a large bird, but that makes no sense – since whatever it is appears to have front legs. So not sure? Lol. I’m sticking with raptor myself.”
After the footage went viral on social media, netizens were quick to share their wisdom and come up with theories of their own.
As some insisted, the animal is clearly a dog with a leash hanging off its back. Others suggested it could be a large bird such as a peacock or an exotic lizard. Who knows, perhaps it was just an alligator in a costume making fun of the locals?
“Someone has turned loose an exotic lizard or an iguana is visiting from the keys,” someone wrote.
“It’s a fox with its tail sticking up and back,” another one said.
“Those big birds sure do sound like velociraptors. I live in a reserve area and have cranes, herons, egrets, etc. in my backyard all the time,” one person suggested.
Someone said: “It’s seriously JUST a dog and what looks to be his harness/leash dragging behind him.”
