Isabel Burrows from Felpham, West Sussex, is Disney fanatic and she is spending her time dressing up as different characters amid the lockdown period.
The 22-year-old personified herself as Mary Poppins, Cruella, Ariel and Smee, using the clothes she already has.
She has also dressed up as Peter Pan and John Darling, Alice in Wonderland’s Alice, The Princess and the Frog’s Tiana, and Beauty and the Beast’s Belle.
Isabel who is a primary school teacher said: ‘‘I have been obsessed with Disney for as long as I can remember. I thought I’m going to challenge myself to come up with these looks.”
‘‘Now Disney Plus has come out, I have been watching 24/7. I wanted to do something fun to keep busy.’’
Luckily, she already had Ariel and Belle costumes before the lockdown started. The rest outfits were created with what she already had at home. ‘‘I have had to make some props so I am getting my arts and crafts out too,’’ she added.
Isabel noticed one of her colleagues was posting homework videos where he dressed up so she decided to do the same. ‘’Disney gives that safe space to be able to just not think about what is going on in the world,’’ she said.
‘‘There’s a real sense of escapism for me.’ Isabel says that she wants to bring a smile on people’s faces during this tough time and she would continue dressing up as Disney characters until she can.’’
Isabel’s dad clicks her pictures until she gets satisfied with the one she can post. She posts her photos to her Instagram account with the hashtag #lockdownlooks.
She said: ‘’I want to keep people smiling and it is keeping me busy thinking about how I am going to create this look and what I can do next. My dad takes the photos – I love him to bits. He is up for it but he doesn’t know who any of the characters are!’’
Isabel also talked about her favorite character Belle from Beauty and the Beast saying, ‘‘She is the dream character to play for anything. Beauty and the Beast is my favourite Disney film. It’s got me through. She is so strong and independent.’’
