A 22-year-old who has an enormous tumor on her face has opened up about how her misfortune has made her a subject of ridicule among heartless folks.
Asha Kumari, from Dhanbad, India, has recently shared her heartbreaking story in a Newsflare video posted on Rumble.
“Initially, I thought it was a pimple,” Asha said in the video. “I had no idea that it would grow into this.”
Asha’s “pimple” grew so big that it covered almost half of her face, leaving her unable to do many routine activities like eating and sleeping.
Her mother Kala Devi, a domestic helper, is a widow and her measly income is not sufficient to meet the needs of her four children.
A crowdfunding page set up for Asha on Ketto said her condition is called “adamantinoma, an odontogenic tumor which is associated with swelling, dental malocclusion, pain and paresthesia of the affected area.”
“She cannot exert much pressure while chewing food, otherwise it starts to ache and bleeds,” Asha’s mother said.
As if her physical ailment isn’t enough, Asha’s heart gets torn apart when she is mistreated by others just because of the lump on her face – something totally out of her control.
“People sneer, look at me with disgust, hence, I have never been able to make too many friends,” she said. “It hurts when people turn their back on you, laugh at you.”
Some heartless folks have even dubbed the young woman as “monkey girl.”
If Asha could receive a surgical treatment to have her tumor removed, it’ll create a drastic difference in her miserable life.
She’ll also be needing reconstruction surgery.
Her treatment is obviously not affordable for her family as the total cost of the procedure is estimated to be more than $15,000 by the doctors.
A fundraising campaign has been started to generate funds for the life-changing surgery Asha needs at the moment.
