A 24-year-old woman, who was 16 stone and was fat-shamed by her date on her birthday, has now lost 5 stone and rejected the man.
Lori Ball, from Denbighshire, North Wales, met a man online after being single for four years. The man invited her for dinner and everything went well on their first date.
The pair decided to meet again next week on Lori’s birthday.
However, the man told Lori he wouldn’t be coming to her birthday as he didn’t want to meet her again because she was bigger than what he had expected.
Lori was left devastated and his cruel comments totally broke her.
She said: “I remember I was single for about four years and I tried online dating and went on a date. We went out, had a nice time, arranged to go out again on my birthday but he went really cold on me.”
“He messaged me that day after we had booked to go out for my birthday, saying, ‘I’m really sorry to do this, but I don’t want to see you again because you are bigger than what I would go for’.”
The incident forced Lori to make a change in her life and she started her weight loss journey.
Earlier, she tried to lose weight but couldn’t because she loves food. She’d eat takeaways, packets of crackers and spreadable cheese.
However, this time it was different and she really wanted to lose weight to get revenge on her date.
She would create takeaway meals at home and worked out six days a week and even hired a personal trainer.
Within six months, Lori lost 5 stone and went from 15st 12lb to just 10st 8lb.
After a few months, the man again messaged her and asked her if she was still single.
She said: “He messaged me a couple of months later saying something along the lines of, ‘hi, how are you doing, you look really well. Are you still single?’.”
Lori never replied to him but he still follows her on Instagram and watches her story.
Lori is now in a relationship with Sam Roberts after meeting him two months after losing weight.
Lori is now happier than ever after losing weight and feels great when people notice her transformation.
She said: “It’s nice when people start noticing. It helped with my confidence massively and spurred me to keep going. It takes a lot of determination, especially when you love food.”
