39-year-old Karen Mannering, who is 26 weeks pregnant, shared a video of herself in a hospital after contracting coronavirus.
She asked people to stay indoors and follow social distancing rules after she developed pneumonia in both lungs due to the infection.
The mother-of-three said in the video: “I am telling you now, if you are going to meet your friends for a stupid beer or for a walk because the weather is nice, you are going to take this home and you are going to kill someone.
“One of your family members. Just stop going out, listen to Boris and just don’t go out, it’s not worth it.”
She continued: “I have just been told I have COVID-19, and I have been ill for two weeks. I have been in hospital now since Saturday and today is Wednesday. I have pneumonia in both lungs and I am fighting for me and my baby.
“It is not worth going out. I have three kids at home and a husband that I can’t see.”
According to Kent Live, Ms. Mannering is receiving treatment at Margate’s QEQM Hospital.
She said she ‘doesn’t know’ where she contracted the infection but it left her ‘very ill.’
Her workplace, Hot-tees Tanning Beauty and Hair Salon, wrote on Facebook: “To all of our customers at Hot-tees we regret to inform you that one of our members have been tested positive for Covid-19.
“Please be safe and if you receive any of the symptoms please ring for medical advice.”
One internet user commented: “I was so stressed when I was pregnant, gave birth 2 weeks ago Im still stressed! People stay home! Hoping for speedy recovery.”
Another wrote: “Get well soon both you and your baby you are in my prayers.”
A third added: “My heart goes out to this brave lady. I will pray for her and unborn baby.”
