Both were professional doctors committed to their patients.
Mohammed Shamji and Elana Fric Shamji were the best couples in their home town of Toronto. Mohammed was a neurosurgeon and Elama was a physician.
While Mohammed had an intense nature, Elana was light-hearted and amiable. After the marriage, they had three children, two girls, and a boy.
Their life was completely opposite to what they showcased on their social media profile. Their marriage was in trouble.
Mohammed used to control and handle his wife’s social media account just to show the world they were perfect as a family.
According to police reports, Mohammed used to hit his wife and that Elana was a victim of domestic violence.
Elana never charged her husband of any charges as she didn’t want to tarnish her husband’s reputation. She just told the police officers that once Mohammed gripped her neck making her unconscious.
Later on, Elana found happiness in another man and started an affair with a doctor. Elana filed a divorce in November. Two days later, she went missing and Mohammed was the one who reported the missing.
He also sent a text to Elana’s phone that morning as well asking where she had gone. Everyone was concerned as Elana has never done anything like this.
After a few days, the public found a suitcase near the underpass. Inside the suitcase was Elana’s body.
She died of trauma and strangulation. Mohammed was clearly the prime suspect. Even neighbors confirmed that the couples were fighting the night before she went missing.
Later, Mohammed confessed that he killed his wife during a heated argument. He broke her neck and ribs and later choked her to death when the kids were sleeping.
Mohammed stuffed Elana’s body into the suitcase and threw it 35 kilometers away from their home. Her body was badly injured that her family could barely recognize her.
