Robin Joyce Fancher, 49, left her home in the Greentree Apartments in Headland and was on her way to the post office in her 2003 Mitsubishi Galant.
She went missing after that and no one knew where she was and what happened to her.
She was found alive in her wrecked car five days after she went missing. A passerby spotted her and dialed 911.
It took 90 minutes to first responders from five different agencies to rescue her.
Her family says it was a miracle that she survived without food or water for nearly 120 hours.
Robin’s daughter, Magen Heeder:
‘I broke down crying for an hour when they told me they’d found her. I’d given up hope by day three,’ Magen said.
‘How she survived without them for so long, we’ll never know.’
‘I would’ve given up before day two. I would’ve been sat there staring at my reflection saying “This is it. This is how it ends for you.”
‘But she didn’t, and somehow she found the strength to keep going. Near-tragedies like this really help to put things into perspective. Sure we’ve had our ups-and-downs before, but me, my little brother and my mom are a team.’
‘We’re going to be there for her every step of the way to help her get back on her feet.’
Robin is currently undergoing hip surgery at South East Alabama Hospital.
