A woman revealed how she was left devastated after all of her friends stood her up on Friendsgiving.
As Christian Zamora revealed in his viral video, his girlfriend, Maryann, had been planning a Friendsgiving party for her colleagues for two weeks.
After the big day finally arrived, however, the couple was shocked when no one showed up for their party after they had already spent an entire day preparing food for them.
Christian went on to reveal that his girlfriend had spent two weeks preparing for the event and even decorated her entire basement ahead of the dinner out of excitement.
As an additional slap in the face, all of the friends who allegedly confirmed their attendance failed to notify Maryann that they wouldn’t be coming.
“My girlfriend was so excited for her first Friendsgiving but no one showed up,” the boyfriend wrote.
“She decorated the whole basement and cooked so much food. I keep trying to cheer her up but nothing is working.”
In his viral video, Christian goes on to show the decorated basement where the bash was supposed to take place. On the tables, one can see a bunch of food waiting to be eaten, whereas plates and utensils are nicely arranged on top of the tables.
As the boyfriend added in another short clip, Maryann’s friends stopped replying to her and completely ignored her messages when she asked them where they were.
“They were planning everything, everything was all set – the date, the time, and everything. They were all gonna come,” Christian said.
“But the day came and no one was answering the group chat. No one was texting or calling, but in her mind, she thought everyone was running late. When it hit the three hour mark, she was like, ‘Yeah no one’s gonna come.’”
Fortunately, the night wasn’t entirely ruined and the food didn’t go to waste, whereas Christian called his own friends and asked them to swoop in and rescue the day.
“They were more than gracious enough to come. They all came and brought stuff. It’s like she had her own Friendsgiving, there was a happy ending to it,” he added.
“She wasn’t upset, she wasn’t mad, she was kind of disappointed about her actual friends not showing up but other than that, she still had great company and she still had a great time.”
After being stood up, Maryann admitted it was time to forge a new list of friends and get rid of the fake ones.
“Obviously I cut that friend group off. But it was a great night, his friends and his brother showed up. We had a great time,” she said.
“They brought drinks and stuff, it was a fun night. I was disappointed at the time but it turned out to be a really good night.”
